Hi, I'm Vanessa, thanks for visiting my site today and this is a little bit about me.
I have over 36 years' experience in a variety of admin and business roles. My first admin role was working for a national corporation at their offices in Sheffield. As my children grew up, I started working part-time in the office at the family business, a sameday Courier service. Over the years this role increased to becoming joint manager and running the business which included payroll, budgeting, accounts, staff management, customer service and everything else you can think of!
When the business was sold on, I worked in a similar field for a while, as well as serving as a Magistrate in Sheffield. I then accepted a role working for a local animal charity building it up to the point where, as Branch Manager, I was responsible for all aspects of the branch and also overseeing the day to day running of two charity shops. I also arranged various animal welfare campaigns such as neutering and microchipping and gave financial assistance to people with animals in the local community. I attended regular committee meetings to provide reports for the trustees and ensure minutes were accurately taken. I also completed my OCR Level 5 NVQ in Management & Leadership.
After leaving and taking a short break from employment due to the pandemic, I took a voluntary role working for SSAFA as Divisional Secretary for Sheffield offering assistance to the Armed Forces community, which I still do today. It was while doing this role that I decided to use my skills to start my own business, in order to have more flexibility for myself and to help others improve their working / home life or their business.
